Ever wondered how can an art fit inside a bottle? Can an artist fit his work really inside a bottle? How did the artist fit all those art artworks inside the bottle? These are the general questions that every visitor are going to get when they visit the exhibition of the artist Bhibhushan Tamrakar at the gallery hall of Nepal academy of fine arts from 15 Poush to 19 Poush 2081 B.S. this time.
When the artist was in his early teens, one of his playmates had challenged him if he could make a distinct and different art. That day he had unknowingly said that he would make an art inside the bottle. Thus, these kind of art work inside the bottle are the out come of the challenge that he accepted and it has been more than 3 decades that he is making such kind of art works.

‘I really love to work in different mediums. My art works are never limited to the canvas. In the earlier days i was trained as a Pauva artist and the art works that I made as a Pauva artist has traveled far and wide. i am never satisfied to limit myself in one medium. Thus, the art works inside the bottles, wood works, copper works are some others kind of work that I challenge myself with time and again,’ says Tamrakar.
The artist tamrakar belongs to the family who work in copper works from generations to generations. His father also carries the legacy of establishing a steel factory during those period.

It took him a lot of time and struggle to make his own name in the field of art. The bottle art, though being practice internationally, in the national arena nobody had dared to venture. Thus, for the artist Tamrakar and for the art lover of Nepal, this was really a new kind of art for Nepali art scene. China comes to be the first country who had created such kind of art for the first time. It dates back to the Qin Dynasty where for the first time the art in the bottle were done.
Kanchha Kumar Karmacharya, former chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine arts, during the inauguration of the program, said,’I had never seen anyone doing an art inside a bottle. Bibhusan was the first one to do it as per my knowledge.’
He share his experience of teaching a lot of new generation artist in this medium. in his long career he sometimes distress that some new generation artist who get awarded by doing such kind of bottle arts do not give him credit as he was the first one to display such kind of art works in the public.
Devaki thapa one of the visitor at the gallery reflects,’I have never seen that the art works can be done inside a whiskey bottles. This really intrigue me to see the way, the art works are fitted inside a bottle. Personally i loved the krishna temple being showcased inside the bottle.’

The art works being showcased inside the bottle consists of Janaki temple, Narayan Hiti palace, Nyatapole temple, Masjid, Nepali style typical houses and boats that you see in the old movies like the Pirates of the Caribbean. Even though the seeps inside the bottle have not made such journey, it gives the audience a feeling of travelling in such boats.
